Notes
Short's goldenrod (Solidago shortii) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It blooms yellow in summer and again in autumn, and butterflies and bees visit the flowers. It grows 24 to 30 inches tall and handles dry spells well.
Pairs well with Common milkweed, Fountain grass, and Shasta daisy.
Native range
Kentucky and Indiana.
