Notes

'Showa-No-Sakae' camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Showa-No-Sakae') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, borders, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Fragrant flowers open in autumn and again in winter, and bees and birds visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The arching, evergreen shrub grows fast.

Pairs well with Strawberry tree, Carolina jessamine, Red spider lily, and Switchgrass.
