Notes

'Signal Station' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Signal Station') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Edward Auten, Jr bred it. The red Japanese type blooms have centers flushed to white and open in late spring. Stiff stems hold them above a low, compact mass of foliage.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, Wild bergamot, and Sedge.
