Notes
'Sike' oakleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia 'Sike') is a shrub for borders, specimen plantings, woodland gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a tidy, erect mound about 2 to 3 feet tall. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it, and the leaves turn a new color in fall.
Pairs well with Autumn fern, Witch hazel, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
