Notes

'Silken Aire' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Silken Aire') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant pink flowers have mauve shading and a darker center. Each stem carries one bud. John and Dot McFarlane bred it, and it blooms in early summer.

Pairs well with Astilbe, Little bluestem, Queen of Night tulip, and Cotoneaster.
