Notes

Arroyo lupine (Lupinus succulentus) is an annual for low maintenance gardens. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Whorls of small, sweetly fragrant flowers cover the upper stem. The blooms range from purplish-blue to rusty-red, and the top petal of each has a yellow center. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers. Once it is established, ease off on watering to prevent mildew on the leaves.

Pairs well with Chia, Ocean spray, and Coast live oak.
