Notes

'Skycole' honey locust (Gleditsia triacanthos 'Skycole') is a tree for specimen use and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It grows at a rapid rate and has an arching habit. Greenish-white flowers open in spring and early summer and attract butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Canadian hemlock, White Feather hosta, Sensitive fern, and Carlton daffodil.
