Notes

'Smith Family Yellow' peony (Paeonia 'Smith Family Yellow') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Donald Robert Smith bred it, and the large deep yellow flowers carry small red flares and a mild, pleasant fragrance. Side buds extend the bloom for up to 2½ weeks. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Fire Island hosta, Sedge, Black Parrot tulip, and Christmas fern.
