Notes

'Sombrero' sneezeweed (Helenium 'Sombrero') is a perennial for pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Yellow flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Spotted joe-pye weed, Culver’s root, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
