Notes
'Mardi Gras' sneezeweed (Helenium 'Mardi Gras') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, meadows, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet soil of most types. Its yellow petals are edged and striped with orange-red, and the tall stems and long lasting flowers make good cuts. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.
Pairs well with Purple moor grass, Culver’s root, Joe Pye weed, and Little bluestem.
