Notes
'Solar Flare' wild indigo (Baptisia 'Solar Flare') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit it, and it tolerates drought. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Flowers open in spring and again in summer.
Pairs well with Hardy geranium, Album nettle-leaved mullein, and Gladiolus.
