Notes
'Sowadabscook' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sowadabscook') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). Give it full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The dark red flowers have a Japanese type form, with showy petals that make a bold display in the garden. Cut the blooms for bouquets to enjoy them indoors. Benjamin W. Guppy bred it.
Pairs well with Little bluestem, Garlic chives, Queen of Night tulip, and Red twig dogwood.
