Notes

'Spear of Destiny' peony (Paeonia 'Spear of Destiny') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Red double flowers face upward and have a slight fragrance. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Stems stand upright, so you do not need to stake them.

Pairs well with Big Daddy hosta, Phantom panicle hydrangea, and Little bluestem.
