This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows in a conical shape at a moderate pace. This evergreen is also salt tolerant.
Pairs well with Ostrich fern, Japanese forest grass, and Black oak.
