Notes

'Splendor' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Splendor') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its dark red, full rose type blooms open in late spring. The stems are straight and upright. Hans Peter Sass bred it.

Pairs well with Siberian squill, Brown-eyed Susan, Sensitive fern, and Little Beauty tulip.
