'Spring Beauty' autumn crocus (Crocus sieberi 'Spring Beauty') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. The flowers have lavender inner tepals and grape purple outer tepals, with yellow centers and orange stamens. It blooms in early to late spring. You can plant it in a lawn, but hold off on mowing as long as possible so the bulbs can build up energy for next year.
Pairs well with Little Beauty tulip, Spanish bluebell, and Nepeta.
