Notes

'Spring Song' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Spring Song') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Edward Auten, Jr bred it in 1955. The large, flat, white semi-double blooms show their stamens and have a few red splashes in the center. They open in mid to late spring on tall, stiff stems.

Pairs well with Japanese spirea, Blonde Ambition blue grama, American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan, and Little Beauty tulip.
