Notes

Tall goldenrod (Solidago altissima) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Small yellow flowers form feathery plumes that draw butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Goldenrod is often blamed for hay fever, but ragweed pollen usually causes it.

Pairs well with New England aster, Big bluestem, and Blue mistflower.
