Notes

'Stiff Weeping' Japanese larch (Larix kaempferi 'Stiff Weeping') is a shrub for specimen planting, small gardens, and bird gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It grows at a rapid rate and reaches 60 to 72 inches tall. The broad form spreads 36 to 72 inches, so give it room. Its needles turn a new color in fall, and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Japanese spirea, Bowl of Cream peony, and Grape hyacinth.
