Notes

'Pendula' Japanese larch (Larix kaempferi 'Pendula') is a tree for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows at a rapid rate and has a broad habit. Birds visit the tree.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Blue Arrow Rocky mountain juniper, and Grape hyacinth.
