Notes
'Subtlety' peony (Paeonia 'Subtlety') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single light yellow flowers fade to white and have a sweet fragrance, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Maurice Ménard bred it.
Pairs well with Coralbells, Blue grama, and Yarrow.
