Notes
'Summer Beauty' bear's breeches (Acanthus 'Summer Beauty') is a perennial for borders, specimen planting, accents, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Creamy white blooms with purple bracts open in spring and again in summer.
Pairs well with Toad lily, Autumn fern, Fountain grass, and Bigleaf hydrangea.
