Notes

'Summer Carnival' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Summer Carnival') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The red flowers have cream streaks, stripes, and flecks. Each stem carries 2 to 4 buds, and the plant grows about 30 inches tall. William Henry Krekler bred it, and Klehm's Song Sparrow Perennial Farm introduced it in 2000.

Pairs well with Sedge, Grape hyacinth, and Sensitive fern.
