Notes

'Summer Chocolate' silk tree (Albizia julibrissin 'Summer Chocolate') is a tree for borders, containers, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). Give it full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Pink, fragrant flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, drawing butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows fast and is drought tolerant.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Silver sage, and Green Velvet buxus.
