Notes

'Summer’s Prelude' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Summer’s Prelude') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows 30 to 32 inches tall with good foliage. Rose pink Japanese style flowers open mid-season, and each bloom is about 6 inches wide. Strong stems hold the blooms up well.

Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Christmas fern, Black Hero tulip, and Pincushion flower.
