Notes
'Sunbright' peony (Paeonia 'Sunbright') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Cup-shaped red flowers open extra early and smell fragrant, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it.
Pairs well with Patriot hosta, Nodding onion, Blue grama, and Annabelle hydrangea.
