Notes

'Sunny Boy' peony (Paeonia 'Sunny Boy') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The full double yellow blooms have purple red flares at the petal base and are fragrant. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Chris Laning bred this peony, and bees and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Blue Angel hosta, Woodland phlox, and Little bluestem.
