Notes

'Sunrise' peony (Paeonia 'Sunrise') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Fragrant cream or pink blooms with a golden-yellow center open from spring into early summer and attract butterflies. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. George Hollis bred it in 1908.

Pairs well with Jeana garden phlox, Green Spice coral bells, and Greig's tulip.
