Notes

'Sunset Mexican' blanket flower (Gaillardia grandiflora 'Sunset Mexican') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms, which open from early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Hidcote lavender, Sapphire alpine oatgrass, and Red-hot poker.
