Notes
'Sweet Refrain' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sweet Refrain') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The blush pink flowers have occasional flecks of carmine in the center of the petals. The stems are stiff, which helps the blooms stand up in the garden and in a vase. Col. Jesse C. Nicholls bred it.
Pairs well with Earth Angel hosta, Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, Garlic chives, and Queen of Night tulip.
