Notes
'Tantrums' peony (Paeonia 'Tantrums') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant dark crimson flowers have a wild confusion of yellow stamens and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Prof. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it in 1942.
Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, Annabelle hydrangea, Little bluestem, and Polish Spirit clematis.
