Notes

'Tater Tot' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Tater Tot') is a shrub for specimen planting, rock gardens, foundations, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy or clay soil. It stays small at 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, with dense, fragrant, evergreen foliage that attracts birds. Deer tend to pass it by. Its slow growth keeps it tidy.

Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Berry Poppins winterberry, and Common snowdrop.
