Notes

'Danica' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Danica') is a shrub for borders, containers, rock gardens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into a dense, fragrant evergreen mound that adds winter interest and attracts birds. It sits low on the menu for deer. Give it room to stay tidy with little care.

Pairs well with Rock soapwort, Red fescue, and Abbotswood shrubby cinquefoil.
