Notes

'Spring Grove' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Spring Grove') is an evergreen shrub for hedges, privacy screens, specimen planting, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly and has fragrant, dark-green foliage that turns yellow-green or slightly brown in winter. Birds find food and cover in it.

Pairs well with Winterberry, Sedge, and Carlton daffodil.
