Notes

'The Fleece' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'The Fleece') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large double white blooms are fragrant and have tints of green and gold deep in the fleecy petals. Plants are strong and multiply rapidly. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.

Pairs well with Black-eyed Susan, Ostrich fern, and Picture tulip.
