Notes

'The Nathans' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'The Nathans') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It is a semi-dwarf with large, rose-pink double blooms and a pleasing fragrance. The broad outer petals surround a closely twisted, overlapping center. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, White Feather hosta, and Prairie dropseed.
