Notes

'The Shirley' foxglove (Digitalis purpurea 'The Shirley') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Flowers open in spring and again in summer.

Pairs well with Bartzella peony, Jackmanii clematis, and Royal Purple smoketree.
