Notes

'Thermopylea' peony (Paeonia 'Thermopylea') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It blooms in early to late spring and attracts butterflies. The erect plant grows 36 to 78 inches tall. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, David garden phlox, and Spiderwort.
