Notes
'Thornton' crabapple (Malus asiatica 'Thornton') is a tree for use as a specimen in the garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It grows 96 to 120 inches tall and 96 to 120 inches wide, so give it plenty of room. White flowers open in late spring. They are fragrant, so plant it where you can enjoy the scent.
Pairs well with Viburnum, Feather reed grass, and White spruce.
