Notes

Thunberg fritillary (Fritillaria thunbergii) is a bulb for container planting and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Pale yellow, bell-shaped flowers hang down in early to late spring and attract bees. Plant the bulb sideways to prevent rotting, and mix sand or grit into the planting hole.

Pairs well with Bluebell, Ornamental onion, and Pansy.
