Notes

'Tiny Lotus' peony (Paeonia 'Tiny Lotus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single flowers are 5 inches wide and open purplish red, then fade to white as they age. The purple and red stems are unusual, and the broad leaves give the plant a lotus look. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with August Moon hosta, Limelight hydrangea, Nodding onion, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
