Notes

'Tonka Purple' peony (Paeonia 'Tonka Purple') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant purple blooms have dark red flares and open in a semi-double to double form. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Each stem holds one bloom, and the plant needs no support.

Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, June hosta, and Phantom panicle hydrangea.
