Notes

'Tranquility' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Tranquility') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The white blooms open in early summer and are shaped like large bombs. Faint yellow at the base of the petals gives each flower a glow. Colonel Jesse C. Nicholls bred it.

Pairs well with Gooseneck loosestrife, Prairie dropseed, and Dalmatian bellflower.
