Notes

'Tristis' golden willow (Salix alba 'Tristis') is a tree for cottage gardens, specimen planting, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a rapid rate and can reach about 75 feet tall. Birds visit the tree. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Sweet pepperbush, Joe Pye weed, and Cinnamon fern.
