Notes

'Tropical Bonnet' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Tropical Bonnet') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large flowers open rose-pink in early to mid spring and age to a softer pink. They have a slight fragrance and sit above good foliage. Roy G. Klehm bred it in 1995, and the stems stay sturdy at about 30 inches tall.

Pairs well with Orange lily, Royal fern, and Spanish bluebell.
