Notes
'Utsu-semi' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Utsu-semi') is a small tree for specimen, accent, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It grows slowly into a broad shape, and bees and birds visit it. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Give it room to spread.
Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Primrose, and Greig's tulip.
