Notes

'Valiant' peony (Paeonia 'Valiant') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Large orange-red blooms have yellow markings in the center. Edward Auten, Jr bred it in 1955.

Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, Praying Hands hosta, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
