Notes

'Valor' plum (Prunus domestica 'Valor') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. The large, dark purple fruit has yellow flesh and a sweet flavor, and it is grown for fresh eating and cooking. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms in early to late spring. The University of Guelph bred it, and it came out in 1968.

Pairs well with Honeycrisp apple, Hummelo betony, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
