Notes

'Illustris' taro (Colocasia esculenta var. antiquorum 'Illustris') is a perennial for specimen planting, accents, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. It grows in a clumping form at a moderate pace and stays evergreen in mild winters. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Give it room to spread its leaves.

Pairs well with Purple loosestrife, Ostrich fern, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
