Notes

'STRgra' southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora 'STRgra') is a tree for specimen use, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It grows in a conical shape at a moderate rate, and the fragrant flowers open in spring and again in summer for bees. The tree stays evergreen and is salt tolerant. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Bloodgood Japanese maple, Foxglove, and Ornamental onion.
